The City of Kingston is asking the public for its opinion about more active forms of travel – like walking, cycling or using other human-powered devices.
The survey brings up a number of measures to encourage people to choose those options when possible.
“Walking or rolling to your destination is a great way to stay healthy, save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” said manager, traffic division, Deanna Green.
Green added the City’s target is to have 20 per cent of all trips be made using some form of active transportation, which includes wheelchairs.
Survey questions involve your opinion about:
– Active transportation networks
– On and off-road infrastructure for human-powered travellers
– Connections to Kingston Transit and parking facilities
– End-of-trip facilities
– Work and school programs and promotions to encourage active transportation as a great choice for commuters
