Victoria Park Wading Pool Opens for Summer

Published on: 2015/07/24 - in Featured Releases

As of this week, the wading pool in Victoria Park is now open for the rest of the summer.

Located at 487 Brock St., Victoria Park’s wading pool will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (weather-permitting).

This will be the wading pool’s final season.

“As we moved forward with plans to improve Victoria Park, we realized we had an opportunity to open the pool for one more season,” says Neal Unsworth, manager, parks development.

Consultations on a plan to redesign the central area of Victoria Park continue and a final plan is expected to be posted online later this summer. The project proposes to replace the wading pool with a new spray pad feature and expand the public gathering areas as well as reconstruct the basketball and tennis court. The park revitalization works are expected to be complete in 2016.

Two public meetings were held this spring where feedback was received from the community. Two concept plans were recently posted for online input (deadline has passed), and can be seen online.
