City Seeks Nominees for 2016 Celebrating Accessibility Awards

Know a person or organization making Kingston more accessible?

The City and the municipal accessibility advisory committee are accepting nominations for the Celebrating Accessibility Awards.

This year, the awards will be given out in multiple categories, including education, employment, recreation, customer service, built environment, volunteer, youth and other.

“We really want to emphasize the many different ways people, businesses and organizations are making impressive efforts to improve accessibility,” says Julie Salter-Keane, community projects manager.

Nominations are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, October 28. The awards will be given out at a Thursday, December 1st ceremony at City Hall.

The Celebrating Accessibility Awards recognizes a person, group or organization that has made or is making a significant contribution beyond legislated requirements, towards improving access for persons with disabilities in Kingston.
