Kingston’s K-Rock Centre won for “Air Canada Centre” Major Facility of the Year (Under 8,000 Capacity) last night at the 2013 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards.
The ceremony was held in Toronto’s Kool Haus and hosted by actress Sandra Bernhard.
The Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame also inducted Colin James, Ralph James, John Donabie, and Graham Henderson.
Montreal band Simple Plan was presented with the 2013 Allan Slaight Humanitarian Spirit Award in recognition of their global fundraising efforts and dedication to youth welfare.
Award nominees and the winners are chosen by combined votes of registered Canadian music industry professionals.
This is the fourth win for the five year old K-Rock Centre, which was up against the Brandt Centre in Regina; Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre in Abbotsford; The CN Centre in Prince George; Consolidated Credit Union Place in Summerside; the GM Centre in Oshawa; Harbour Station in St John, NB; Moncton Coliseum in Moncton; and the WFCU Centre in Windsor.
