Kingston General Hospital reports that its Emergency Department access ramp will be closed from September 28 to October 30, 2015 for construction work on the ramp.
October 28 Update – King Street Emergency Ramp entrance has now re-opened.
During this time period, the Emergency Department access will be moved to the Armstrong wing entrance on L. University Ave.
KGH are ensuring patients and families can get to the Emergency Department quickly by stationing additional staff and volunteers at the Armstrong wing entrance to assist and provide directions. As usual, patients will be assessed once they arrive in the Emergency Department.
To accommodate any increase in vehicle traffic, Lower University Avenue will become a one-way street between King Street W. to Stuart Street. Anyone not requiring access to access the Emergency Department is asked to avoid Lower University during that time.
