Joe’s M.I.L.L. Receives $14,900 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant

On Tuesday, May 21, 2013, the Joe’s M.I.L.L. Board of Directors will hold a Donor Recognition Reception to recognize the generous donation from the Ontario Trillium Foundation of $14,900.

Dignitaries and speakers invited to Tuesday’s reception include Mr. John Gerretsen, MPP, Kingston & the Islands; Mark Gerretsen, Mayor of the City of Kingston; Ann Pritchard, Grant Reviewer, OTF; and Terry Snider, President of Joe’s M.I.L.L.

“We applied to the OTF to request funds to allow us to complete the interior of our new space in the J.K. Tett Centre which is scheduled for completion in June 2014” said Terry Snider, President of Joe’s M.I.L.L. “The Board of Directors are delighted to have received this money which will outfit our new 1,000 sq. ft space.”

Joe’s M.I.L.L. (Joe Chithalen Musical Instrument Lending Library) is a a registered charity that has served the Kingston and area’s musical community since May 2000.

The library currently has around 500 items available to borrow and enjoy, including guitars, keyboards, drums, horns, violins, percussion, exotic instruments, and much more – and just like a regular library, it’s all free.

Its lending and teaching programs sustain music appreciation, knowledge, community enrichment and provide opportunities for youth and adults to meet their full potential.

Joe’s M.I.L.L. is located at 559 Bagot at the rear entrance of the former Robert Meek School off Corrigan Street.
