East Cup Mountain Bike Series to Open in Kingston

It’s finally here: a fun, family-friendly mountain bike series for Eastern Ontario! Get ready for the new East Cup, happening this summer in Kingston, Cornwall and Limerick Forest.

The excitement kicks off Sunday, April 21, in Kingston on an 8 km course featuring groomed single-track, gravel road sections and fun raised bridges.

Brought to you by Dan Marshall of Substance Projects, known for events like the fun and innovative Ontario XCM series and Sausage Suit Individual Time-Trial, the East Cup races highlight unique courses designed for an exceptional experience.

You’ve never ridden courses like these, and you need to see them to believe it!

All levels of rider will find rewarding challenges at each race of the East Cup series. Participants can choose their category –First-timer, Competitor or Expert/Pro– based on their experience and skills and their desired level of competition.

Winners from each category will be recognized at a podium ceremony, but all registered riders are eligible to win prizes, which are awarded by draws.

The East Cup series is affordable outdoor fun for the whole family, with a Kids’ Race offering age-based categories, an easy-going inclusive atmosphere and a commemorative number plate and prize for each young rider.

Experienced riders and absolute novices alike will have a blast on unforgettable courses, and all riders are invited to join in the complementary BBQ after the race.

The Kingston East Cup 1 event on April 21 takes place at “Sanger Silos” – aka The Farm – at 1255 Unity Road Kingston Ontario (map).  The series will conclude with East Cup 4 at the local Westbrook Dome on September 29, 2013.
