Tragically Hip Wine at LCBO

The 2015 vintage of The Tragically Hip Grand Reserve Red – Fully Completely and 2016 vintage of The Tragically Hip White – Ahead by a Century hit the shelves of LCBO outlets across the province this weekend.

http://www.stoneyridge.com/product/tragically-hip-fully-completely-grand-reserve-red/GRAND RESERVE RED – FULLY COMPLETELY, was co-created by band members Gord Downie, Paul Langlois, Rob Baker, Gord Sinclair, and Johnny Fay in conjunction with Stoney Ridge Head Winemaker, Jeff Hundertmark. Its bottle features an exact replication of the original artwork that appeared on the Fully Completely album cover.(LCBO page)

The wine is described as “Bright Red Fruit and Cassis on the nose, with hints of cedar and cinnamon. The palate is soft with a nicely integrated smokiness and pure grape tannins. The finish is long and velvety featuring juicy red fruit and menthol.”

The band’s AHEAD BY A CENTURY – 2014 VQA CHARDONNAY was introduced to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Trouble At The Henhouse, with the Hip once again working with Stoney Ridge’s Jeff Hundertmark. (LCBO page)

The 100% Chardonnay grapes for this wine were hand harvested from the famed Wiens Farm in Niagara On The Lake, Ontario.

It is described as having developed “a mixture of flavours including tropical pineapple, lemon, toasted coconut, marshmallows and a hint of butterscotch.

Check The Tragically Hip wine’s availability by selecting your local store at this LCBO.com page (as of this writing, all bottles in Kingston appear to be sold out except the Queen’s Mary at Bath Rd store which indicates there is some Grand Reserve Red wine on shelves). They may also be available for home delivery by ordering from the LCBO online.

The band’s wine can also be purchased online from StoneyRidge.com and in person at the Stoney Ridge Wine Boutique in Vineland, Ontario.
