“Snow Much Fun” will bring Springer Market Square to life with seasonal cheer on Friday, December 12 starting at 5:00 pm. (map)
The event will feature a variety of musical performances, skating, hop aboard the Jingle Bell Express, visit with Santa and his reindeer, and enjoy other outdoor fun. Market stalls will also be available to peruse, showcasing a variety of crafts.
According to Nancy Ruel, Special Events and Marketing Supervisor, “This community event is a great way to enjoy outdoor fun with family and friends and set the tone for an active winter and magical holiday season.”
Joyful musical performances will take place at the Square’s ampitheatre and will be brought by Mulberry Waldorf School Choir, The Big Phat Horn Band, Gary Rasberry, The Greater Kingston Chorus and the Kingston Carollers in the Square’s amphitheatre.
People attending are asked to consider bringing a new unwrapped toy for the Salvation Army Toy Drive. The cost for hot chocolate will be a donation to Kingston 4 Paws Service Dogs.
Everyone is encouraged to dress warmly and to bring along a blanket so they can stake a cozy and comfortable spot to enjoy the celebration.
To cement the snow theme, those who wish will be able to skate in the Square (weather-permitting), then hop aboard the Jingle Bell Express, visit with Santa and his reindeer, decorate gingerbread cookies and visit the holiday craft market.
Crafters have been busy as elves creating a broad range of decorative holiday items, handmade gifts and other unique gift items. A variety of market stalls will run from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm enabling visitors to shop for gifts at the venue.
