LVEC to be Renamed Rogers K-Rock Centre

Following a vote by Kingston City Council last night, Kingston’s LVEC (Large Venue Entertainment Centre) will be renamed the Rogers K-Rock Centre.

This vote is an amendment to the 10-year partnership between Rogers Radio station K-Rock 105.7 and SMG Canada, the K- Rock Centre management company, that was signed in 2008 and grants K-Rock 105.7 naming rights for the arena through 2018.

According to a media release, detailed plans for the official unveiling of the new name will be announced in the coming months.

“Kingston is an important market to Rogers and K-Rock 105.7, and we’re looking forward to working even more closely alongside the City of Kingston and SMG Canada through this venue,” said Danny Kingsbury, General Manager, Kingston and Atlantic Canada, Rogers Radio. “Enhancing our long-standing partnership with SMG Canada and the City of Kingston reaffirms our commitment to investing in this facility so it can continue to host world-class sports and entertainment events for the community.”

“As our partnership with Rogers expands, there will be significant new opportunities for growth and ways to positively impact our local community. We welcome Rogers to our venue brand and look forward to building on our track record of success for Kingston for many years to come,” said Lynn Carlotto, SMG Canada General Manager, K-Rock Centre.

As the city’s premier venue for sports and entertainment,it is official home to the Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs, community and sporting events that will include the Stars on Ice 2013 World Tour skating show, as well as upcoming concerts featuring Carrie Underwood and Diana Krall.
