Singer-songwriter Lydia Persaud is set to introduce her new album to Kingston on Friday, June 14th when she hits the stage at The Mansion. A fixture of Toronto’s music community, her debut album was released in May via Next Door Records, the new label from Outside Music.
Persaud has opened for Sarah Harmer, Serena Ryder, Joey Landreth, Terra Lightfoot (Begonia/Lindi Ortega) and also collaborated with Lee Fields, Jill Barber, Royal Wood, Karl Wolf and many others.
The new album, Let Me Show You, features 11 singles including “Honey Child”, “More Of Me” and “Low Light” and run the gamut from romance to social activism.
“The songs shift from being based in love and heartbreak to my personal encounters with race, and gender issues,” said Lydia.
Kingston is just one of the stops in her album tour and comes prior to a June 19th Toronto album release show at the Drake Underground in Toronto.
Tickets for Lydia Persaud’s concert at The Mansion w. with Charlotte Cornfield are $10 and can be purchased at Ticket Scene.
