Leanne Hoffman Bringing Debut Album Tour to Kingston

Published on: 2019/05/15 - in Entertainment

Singer-songwriter Leanne Hoffman will be hitting the stage at Musiikki Cafe on Thursday, May 16 in support of her brand new album, What Remains.

The album was just release on May 10th and took almost 4 years to finish. It’s the artist’s first solo project following a stint in the bluesy folk-pop duo, Magnolia.

Originally from the small Ontario town of Exeter, Hoffman now calls Halifax home after moving there to study Marine Biology at Dalhousie and then switching career paths when she ended up spending more time writing songs than studying.

Lyrically, Hoffman is influenced by artists like Paul Simon, Regina Spektor, Nick Lowe, Phoebe Bridgers, and Fiona Apple – describing them as all having an ability to write lyrics that speak so specifically to a certain experience or feeling that it’s like you’re living it right in that moment.

According to the Facebook event page, Leanne Hoffman will be joined by special guest Kim Harris at her May 16 Musiikki Café concert (73 Brock St.).
