The Kingston Symphony will begin its 2025 season with two performances highlighting distinct musical styles and talents.

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., the fourth Masterworks concert of the season, titled Hindemith & Haydn, will take place at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts. The program will feature Principal Flute Amelia Lyon performing an orchestrated adaptation of Hindemith’s Flute Sonata for flute and strings. The concert will explore the diverse musical expressions of composers including Respighi, Wagner, and Haydn, emphasizing the range of their compositional approaches.

Later in the month, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., the Kingston Symphony will be joined by Quartetto Gelato at the Kingston Grand Theatre for a performance titled Tasty Tunes with Quartetto Gelato. The ensemble, known for blending classical works with tangos, gypsy melodies, klezmer, jazz, and folk music, will present a program featuring virtuosic pieces, romantic ballads, and traditional Romani music. The performance will include elements of humor and dance, characteristic of Quartetto Gelato’s style.
