Since it began in the fall of 2008,  downtown art galleries are opening their doors for the sixth time for Art After Dark this Thursday, May 26. The bi-annual event has been a hit with art enthusiasts in Kingston and the area as they’ve visited each gallery during the evening.

This year’s Art After Dark begins at 7 pm and continue through to 10pm. All 13 galleries participating in the event will offer light refreshments, great conversation and compelling art.

The Art After Dark committee also announced it will be welcome a new gallery this spring: fad.  This gallery opened only one week ago and can be found at 250 Ontario Street. This is their second gallery location, with the first one located in Prince Edward County.

According to its owners, fad displays fine art & design as well as “funktional art” (art you can use) with more than 40 Canadian artists represented.
