Kingston’s The Glorious Sons gained a big boost in advance of their U.S. tour this week, when their single “S.O.S. (Sawed OffShotgun)” hit #1 on both the U.S. Active Rock Radio Chart and Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs Chart – making “S.O.S.” the band’s first international chart topper.
These accolades follow the band becoming the ‘Most Played Artist’ at Alternative Radio in Canada in 2018 and “S.O.S.” spending ten consecutive weeks at #1 at Canadian Rock Radio in addition to being named one of Apple Music’s ‘Best of 2018’.
The Sons were featured in a Billboard article published today that features an exclusive music video of their “S.O.S.” performance at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena in November during the Canadian tour. Last year’s concerts ranged across 12 different countries including Marseille, France where the band opened for The Rolling Stones last June at the Orange Velodrome.
Since the release of “Young Beauties and Fools” in October 2017, The Glorious Sons have also celebrated a JUNO Award win for “Rock Album of the Year”, being named “Rock Group of the Year” at the 2018 Indies, and the GOLD-certification of lead single “Everything is Alright”, which topped the charts and became their first #1 in the Alternative Radio format.
