Elton John and his band are returning to Kingston on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Rogers K-Rock Centre.

The performance is part of a six-city concert tour to promote his latest album, Wonderful Crazy Night, and will feature songs from that latest release as well as iconic hits from his successful five-decade career.

“Kingston is happy to welcome Sir Elton John back to our community this fall,” said Mayor Bryan Paterson, in a K-Rock Centre release. “We are proud the Rogers K-Rock Centre, seven-time winner of Major Facility of Year, was one of only two Ontario locations selected to host what promises to be an incredible show by one of the most popular and highly acclaimed artists of all time.”

Last seen in Kingston back in July 2010, Elton John’s band on this Wonderful Crazy Night tour features Nigel Olsson – part of Elton’s original three-piece band – on drums, Davey Johnstone – who first recorded with Elton in 1971, joining the band a year later – on guitar, John Mahon on percussion, Kim Bullard on keyboards, and Matt Bissonette on bass.

The music legend says he chose to limit his tour to just a few select arenas because he wants to spend more time with his family and less time on the road.

“I am all too aware of how precious the time ahead is,” he said. “My sons (with Canadian husband, David Furnish) are growing up so quickly. Their early years are just flying by and I want to be there with them.”

A few of Elton’s many worldwide hits include “Rocket Man,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” and “Candle in the Wind 1997” – performed at Princess Diana’s funeral, the song is second only to Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” as the biggest selling single of all time (and the biggest-selling single since UK and US singles charts began in the 1950s), with sales of over 33 million copies, and a Grammy winner for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Rogers K-Rock Centre tickets go on sale Friday, May 12th at 10:00am (May 9th for “Front of the Line American Express”) at Ticketmaster online and by phone.

Subject to availability, Box Office sales begin Monday, May 15th. (K-Rock Centre policy details)
