5th Company Lane Productions Presents “The Woman Before”, “The Ugly One”

Fifth Company Lane Productions believes that theatre is the perfect medium for intimate storytelling.

The company grew out of a desire to showcase the on-stage and behind-the-scenes talents of Queen’s students through small-ensemble theatre.

Their focus is to present high-quality production that underscores challenging performances in dialogue, in conjunction with evocative stage, lighting, and costume designs.

The Woman Before

Online social networking is changing the way we live our lives. You can never be too sure if something you say will bind you to something forever, possibly rearing its ugly head and taking its toll on your life years later, just as it does for frank in The Woman Before.

The play presents a very tangible message about the human condition – ho we are tied to certain unspoken truths of superficiality and blissful ignorance.

The Ugly One

Lette is a very ugly man, a very ugly man who decides to take drastic measures to be beautiful. As we follow Lette on his journey, he loses not only himself, but all that he holds dear. Exploring what it means to be ‘beautiful’ and how we see ourselves in our own society, The Ugly One focuses on who we truly are.
