This will be the first time our city has hosted a Canada Soccer national competition. The 2015 Futsal Canadian Championship took place in Montreal and the 2016 championship was held in Oshawa. National champions in 2015 was Futsal Club Toronto and in 2016 it was Toronto United Futsal.

Canada Soccer’s General Secretary, Peter Montopoli, said in a release:”The Futsal Canadian Championship is gaining momentum as an event representing an important evolution of the official indoor version of soccer in Canada.”

Kingston’s tournament will mark the first time a representative from the province of Saskatchewan will be included. The championship will consist of a three-team format, with Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Quebec clubs playing a round-robin series before the final match on Sunday.

Futsal is a unique, fast-paced indoor sport played across Canada and around the world. Canada Soccer is committed to the growth and promotion of the game.
