The Grand Theatre opened its box office at noon today to offer individual performance tickets for all of the 2019-20 Grand OnStage season shows, following a record-setting subscription sales period.
Over 40 shows are on sale for this twelfth season and includes cirque, dance, theatre, comedy and family show along with music ranging from jazz to pop and rock, and country to global beats and beyond.
Some of this year’s Grand OnStage performances include Canadian icon Burton Cummings, dance company extraordinaire Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal, Bruce Cockburn, New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, comedian Shaun Majumder, cirque stars Flip Fabrique and season opener Rufus Wainwright.
Musical performances from across Canada and around the world will include Kim Mitchell, Crash Test Dummies, Sarah Slean with Hawksley Workman, Matt Mays, Classic Albums Live – Led Zeppelin III, Mariachi de Herencia and many more. Nostalgia buffs will not want to miss Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers, Sinatra with Matt Dusk, rockabilly with Lee Rocker of The Stray Cats, Max Weinberg’s Jukebox and Sesame Street Live! C is for Celebration.
Three 50th anniversaries will also be featured, including horn rock band Lighthouse, Canadian blues ambassadors The Legendary Downchild Blues Band and a celebration of 50 years of Abbey Road by Classic Albums Live.

Theatrical performances take centre-stage with the Dora-award winning Huff by Cliff Cardinal, in a darkly comic and raw solo performance; the Edinburgh Fringe smash-hit We’ve Got Each Other; a one-man Bon Jovi musical; the audience-interactive The Archivist, created and performed by Shaista Latif and the interdisciplinary work Africville Stories featuring Juno jazz winner Joe Sealy along with musician Paul Novotny and vocalist/narrator Jackie Richardson telling the story of Africville, Canada’s oldest black community.
