The City of Kingston announced this week that season subscriptions for the highly anticipated Grand OnStage 2023-24 season will go on sale starting Thursday, May 25 at noon.
Showcasing an impressive lineup of performances from Canada and around the globe, the 16th season of Grand OnStage promises to captivate audiences with a diverse range of shows. From dance to theatre, young audience performances to comedy, and cirque to popular music concerts, this season is set to offer a rich tapestry of entertainment and cultural enrichment.
Jayson Duggan, performing arts manager, expressed the city’s commitment to presenting a wide array of performances from various countries, saying, “Our commitment to presenting a wide diversity of performances from across Canada and around the world continues in 2023-24 with Nobuntu from Zimbabwe, The Peking Acrobats from China, Malevo from Argentina, Casting Off from Australia, Walking Through The Fire – Indigenous Collaborations featuring Sultans of String & Friends from Canada, and Cherish The Ladies from Ireland, to name only a few.”
In addition to the exciting international acts, the 2023-24 season will also include local favorites: the Season Opener Howard Jones Acoustic Trio, The Legendary Downchild Blues Band, Canadian illusionist Darcy Oake, jazz sensation Holly Cole, An Evening with Big Sugar, Dean Brody’s Right Round Here Tour, Canada’s Drag Race superstar Tynomi Banks, Burton Cummings, and Classic Albums Live performing Led Zeppelin’s House of the Holy and The Police’s Synchronicity note-for-note, cut-for-cut are just a few of the highlights.
Grand OnStage performances offer more than just entertainment; they provide community engagement opportunities through pre-show “In Conversations,” post-show “Talkbacks,” masterclasses, workshops, and artist residencies.
