City Addresses Questions About 5G Networks with New Webpage

The City of Kingston reports it has launched a new webpage offering information about 5G networks, the fifth generation mobile wireless.

“We have been receiving many resident questions about 5G networks and wanted to offer a local resource to point people to sources of information,” said JC Kenny, director, communications and customer experience.

Kenny confirmed neither the City nor Utilities Kingston has any service contracts for 5G service and none of the telecom service providers operating in Kingston offer 5G service currently.

The webpage addresses questions about the City’s role when it comes to 5G networks, although the federal government regulates 5G and other digital cellular networks.

You can find answers to frequently asked questions about 5G networks along with links to other government agencies connected to this issue at the City website’s “About 5G Networks and Kingston” page.
