Kingston Transit also reports the data will be available to other free transit apps that can found in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

“We have made our real-time transit data available in an open data format. Real-time data takes the guess work out of knowing if your bus is just around the corner or if it’s been delayed,” said Kingston Transit general manager, Jeremy DaCosta, in a release. “Until now, passengers didn’t have a convenient way of knowing where their bus is. This changes all of that. It’s fantastic!”

If a rider determines their preferred app doesn’t include Kingston Transit real-time information, DaCosta suggests contacting Kingston Transit so they can make contact with that app developer and make the data available.
