Public Invited to Vote on Naming New School in Kingston East

The Transitions Advisory Group (TAG) requested community input for potential names for the Limestone District School Board’s new school in Kingston East as part of Phase I of the school naming process.

TAG received 128 submissions from students, parents, staff and community members. Some entries were similar and some were unique. TAG has narrowed the list down to 12 possibilities and is sending a list of potential names back out for more public input.

The Please consider ranking your top 3 choices for the new school name based on the 12 possibilities provided.

The results of this online survey will be sent to the Kingston East Integration Committee on January 31st. The Integration Committee, based on the strength of the rationale for each name, considering the data from the online vote, and any other pertinent information, will send 3-5 names as finalists to the Board of Trustees in early February 2012. The Trustees of the Limestone District School Board will then choose a name for the new school in Kingston East after they have had an opportunity to review the list of finalists and vote.
