Come offer your ideas for a water feature, gathering place and amenities to be built in the central portion of Victoria Park.
The public meeting is at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15 at St. Joseph’s/St. Mary School gym, 671 Brock St.
“We are looking to enhance the area of the park that you see when you walk towards the park from the north and south on Frontenac Street. This is an opportunity for us to work together with all the people who love Victoria Park to make it an even better public park,” says Neal Unsworth, parks manager.
He notes that the water feature will replace the park’s wading pool, which is to be removed this spring. People in the Victoria Park neighbourhood can plan to make use of the splash pad at the Memorial Centre at York and Alfred streets until the water feature is constructed in Victoria Park.
The City and Janet Rosenberg & Studio Landscape Architects will gather feedback on ideas for the water feature, amenities and gathering place in the workshop session.
Rosenberg and her team will use community input to draft two design concepts that will be presented for feedback at a second public meeting set for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13 also at St. Joseph’s/St. Mary School. The design concepts will also be made available for online input at that time at CityofKingston.ca/getinvolved.
