App Store Strikes Down Drone Strike App

Monday: A New York University Student had his Drone Strike tracking App shot down by the Apple App Store three times. The app uses Google Maps to place markers everywhere there is a reported US drone strike worldwide and updates users. Apple currently classifies the rejected app as “excessively crude”. There you have it, multi-billion dollar tech giant Apple (indirectly) calls US foreign policy “excessively crude”, the scandal!

Your Status Updates Get Hijacked By Apps

Tuesday: Apps aren’t just on mobile phones any more, they can be in your car, on your TV, your fridge and your Facebook account. Out of 500,000 Facebook apps analyzed by Privacy Protection company Secure.me 63% ask for the ability to post on your behalf. What a drag, I remember when Elmo was just about having fun. Still, for parents looking for a digital back-up they could do no better than Elmo.

Lady Gaga’s Next Album is an App?

Friday: Call the paparazzi, while not as interesting as a bad romance, you should still put on your poker face when reading this story. Maybe she was born this way, but eccentric artist Lady Gaga’s next album Artpop will be released as an App. This news might cause you to just dance but don’t call Alejandro on the telephone yet! Gaga says it offers “the most major way to fully immerse yourself”. While she isn’t the first artist to release an album with an interactive component Artpop sounds like it will have a lot of content for Lady Gaga fans she wrote to her fans “You inspired me to create something that communicated with images, because you do, you communicate with me and each other with .gifs and pictures, and artwork, graphics all day, 24/7…”.
