Tallack Martial Arts Hosting 7th Annual “12-Hour Training Day” Event

RELEASE — On Saturday November 3rd, Tallack Martial Arts will be hosting their 7th Annual 12-Hour Training Day and Fundraiser.

The event is for the introduction and preservation of Karate, Kung-Fu, Weaponry, and other complimentary styles of Martial Arts to all students that attend. Seminars will be taught by local and visiting master instructors of their respective disciplines. Students will participate in different lessons learning various styles throughout the day.

The day starts at 7:30 AM and goes until 7:30 PM. Most important of note will be the four senior instructors teaching at the event.

First is Hanshi Ken Tallack (9th Degree Black Belt) who is Kingston’s leading Martial Arts Instructor with over 40 years of experience. Secondly, is Hanshi Alex Atkinson (who is a 9th Degree Black Belt lead instructor of the Canadian Karate Kung-Fu Association) that will be visiting from Toronto, Ontario. Third is Jonathan Marconi who is a local MMA competitive champion. And lastly, fourth, is Sensei Keller Guimaraes (who received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by the Liga Brasileira de Jiu-Jitsu (LBJJ) in Brazil).

Funds raised will go toward the Chelsea Tobin Memorial Fund that will help expand our dojo’s weaponry program and to help with local Kingston martial arts programs, such as scholarships for the Tallack’s Karate Kids Program, which is in 25 local Kingston and area elementary schools, providing over 125 families with free lessons at their child’s school.
