Springer Market Square Rink Opens

Published on: 2010/12/06 - in Releases

The rink at Springer Market Square officially opened Saturday night, just in time for skaters to enjoy a turn or two around the rink while gathering for the Jingle Bell Walk.

The rink will be open daily (weather permitting) from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.  A warming/change area, complete with lockers (bring your own lock) and accessible washrooms is now available in the lower level of City Hall’s Market Wing.  An access ramp is available via the North courtyard off Brock Street.

Visit www.cityofkingston.ca/skatinginthesquare to review the rink’s rules and its status.

The Kingston Townsmen were also in the Square to kick-off Saturday’s festivities starting at 6 p.m., with free hot chocolate available courtesy of the Kingston Brewing Company. And the first 100 people who donated $10 to the P.R.O. Kids charity received a battery-operated flickering candle to light their walk.
