RELEASE — The City of Kingston has revised the draft Public Engagement Framework to reflect public input – and it is now available for review. See and respond to it at CityofKingston.ca/Get-Involved until Friday, June 9.

“Kingston is fortunate to have so many residents participating in consultations on City efforts. This Public Engagement Framework will help guide consultative processes that will ultimately improve the quality of our initiatives,” says Lanie Hurdle, commissioner, community services.

The framework outlines:

– Realistic expectations for engagement
– Key principles to guide public engagement
– Roles and responsibilities for residents, council and employees
– An approach to planning public engagements
– Tools and techniques

The draft framework will also be the subject of deeper discussions at a series of upcoming focus groups.

This is the second round of public consultation on the draft Public Engagement Framework. The City will use the input to further hone the Public Engagement Framework with the aim of having it in place to guide fall consultations.
