RELEASE — The City of Kingston is hosting an open house on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. to present draft urban design and zoning ideas for the Reddendale neighbourhood.
The open house will be held at Centre 70, 100 Days Rd. and will include a presentation at 6:10 p.m. followed by an interactive discussion with the residents.
“Ensuring that future development is compatible with the neighbourhood’s existing character is an important aspect of this review,” says Sukriti Agarwal, project manager with the City’s planning division.
This work was proposed as an expanded scope of work within the Zoning Bylaw Update project and involves the preparation of area-specific urban design guidelines and recommendations for appropriate zoning criteria for Reddendale to ensure that new development is compatible with the physical character of established residential development.
Following the October open house, the City will work to incorporate resident feedback as appropriate and undertake amendments to Zoning Bylaw Number 76-26 to implement recommendations coming out of this work. The intent is to carry forward the amendments into the new City-wide Zoning Bylaw.
