Toronto’s favourite pop queen Ralph brings her cross-Canada tour with Scott Helman to Stages Nightclub tonight. The songstress was last seen in Kingston back in December, when she performed at a sold-out show at the Mansion.
Her debut album released last fall, A Good Girl, introduced a new sound for Ralph – maintaining her classic glittering synths and disco flare that put her on the pop map, she’s introduced heavier beats and a sprinkle of sultry R&B to create a collection of danceable bops, low-key jams and heartbreak anthems.
Including the summer favourites ‘Girl Next Door’ ft. TOBi (below), ‘Tables Have Turned and her fall single ‘Long Distance Lover’,’ the 10-track collection holds an eclectic range of emotions from the flirty ‘Bedroom Eyes’ to the intensely emotional ‘Cereal’ ft. Milk & Bones.
Ralph has quickly become a modern day role model for both young men and women who are navigating relationships, identity, self-love and acceptance. With little more than talent and a vision, she has built an incredible following in Canada, the US and Europe – racking up over 17 million Spotify streams.
Her music is catchy but cool, sexy but smart, edgy but evocative; and this is what has drawn both fans and tastemakers her way. She’s earned praises from some of the industry’s biggest players such as Billboard, Perez Hilton, Noisey, Fader, Nylon, Variety, Paper Mag, ELLE Canada, Flare, FASHION, MTV and Much.
