Check out the view from the driver’s seat of a snow plow, street sweeper or fire truck during the free Public Works Open House, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at the Public Works yard at Railway and Division Streets (enter off Railway Street).

“Our Public Works staff play an important role in the quality of life we all enjoy through the maintenance of our green spaces and roads,” said Mayor Mark Gerretsen. “The Public Works Open House is a great opportunity for the whole family to learn how staff do what they do, explore the vehicles used, and meet the people who make Kingston work.”

The Open House marks the end of National Public Works Week and celebrates the contribution of City workers such as snow plow drivers, street sweepers and firefighters.

Visitors will learn about the City services surrounding roads, parks, horticulture, forestry, solid waste, Utilities Kingston, Kingston Police and Kingston Fire & Rescue.

If you plan to get there by bus, check out the City’s Trip Planner resource page.
