City Upgrading Online Service Delivery for Residents

RELEASE — The City of Kingston and Canadian-based software company Vivvo are developing an online login system for the City’s website to help residents easily access City services they use.

“We are excited to move forward with a new platform that improves service delivery by offering residents access to consistent, accurate and timely information,” said Jeff Bumstead, the City’s chief information officer.

The system will allow residents to use a single login to interact with the City through an online system that securely and intuitively delivers a range of City services. Currently, residents require different usernames and passwords for each City service application.

“We know that residents are accustomed to interacting online for banking and shopping,” says Craig Fiske, CEO of Vivvo. “They expect the same kind of interactions from government. Our CitizenOne Platform helps government manage the delivery of services in the digital channel. It provides a toolset to help government manage citizen identification, privacy, trust, consent, the movement of data and government policy.”

Key features of this system include:

  • Increased opportunities to quickly access consistent information across multiple City service areas.
  • Use of a single resident sign-on account/profile to access multiple City applications.
  • Safeguarding residents’ private information while they access the system.

The system will be developed over 2019 and services will be added over time.
