RELEASE — Heading to Springer Market Square on Saturday? If so, plan to stop by the City’s Budget Engagement Table!
Staff will be at the market starting at 8:30 a.m. to answer your questions about the City’s budget, sources of funding and other financial information.
“We hope the community will come out to the market with their questions and comments about the City’s budget and financials and fill out our 2022 budget survey while you’re there,” says Desiree Kennedy, Chief Financial Officer and City Treasurer. Staff will be following all Public Health regulations to ensure a safe experience.
This event is part of a larger engagement the City is undertaking to shape its 2022 budgets. “Last year, we heard from people that they wanted more opportunities to engage. We listened, and this year in addition to our survey we are hosting in-person and virtual events,” says Kennedy.
Here are some other ways you can get involved in shaping the 2022 budgets:
- Attend the final virtual budget session with Housing and Social Services on Monday, July 26. Register to participate. Watch past departmental budget sessions.
- Complete a survey online at GetInvolved.CityofKingston.ca or by calling 613-546-0000. That could have a big positive impact on the community.
- Can’t meet us at the market this Saturday? Staff will be there on Thursday, Aug. 5 too!
“This is your community, and your budget! And now is your time to get involved.”
