March Break Activities for Kids in Kingston

Adventure, swimming, skating, crafts, and games are all being offered by the City over March Break.

Below is a schedule of activities to help residents plan their week.

FREE K-ROCK CENTRE PUBLIC SKATES

Skate for FREE at the K-Rock Centre, 1 Barrack St. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily from Monday, March 14 to Wednesday, March 16. This public skating time is supported by K-Rock 105.7. Please bring a non-perishable food item in support of the Salvation Army Food Drive.

FREE CPR ANYTIME EVENT

Friday, March 18 at the INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiner’s Road, Meeting Room D. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is a live-saving skill that can save the life of someone who has experienced a cardiac arrest. Session 1 is from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Session 2 is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please register for this FREE event open to ages 13+ online at www.cityofkingston.ca/eCity.

MARCH BREAK ADVENTURE CAMP

Running from March 14 to 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. this camp offers games, swims, crafts and activities for children 6 to 12 years-old at Artillery Park Aquatic & Fitness Centre. The cost is $27 a day. Add $10.50 for a Boiler Room Climbing Gym Trip on Friday. Extended Supervision available for $5.45 a day (7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.). SUPERVISED YOUTH CO-ED SHINNY HOCKEY

Full hockey equipment required. Cost: $6.50 per visit.

  • Monday, March 14, at the INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiners Rd. – ages 7 to 9 from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. and ages 10 to14 from 1:30 – 2:20 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 15, at the Memorial Centre, 303 York St. – ages 7 to 9 from 1 to 1:50 p.m. and ages 10 to 14 from 2 to 2:50 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 16, at the INVISTA Centre – ages 7 to 9 from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. and ages 10 to 14 from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 17, at the Memorial Centre – ages 7 to 9 from 10 to 10:50 a.m. and ages 10 to 14 from 11- 11:50 a.m.
  • Friday, March 18, at the INVISTA Centre – 7 to 9 from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. and ages 10 to14 from 2:30 – 3:20 p.m.

SWIM AT THE ARTILLERY PARK AQUATIC & FITNESS CENTRE

Swim in the Artillery Park pool at 76 Ordnance St. Cost: $2.35 child, $3.33 Senior/Student, $4.05 Adult, $6.81 family (max. 5). 3:1 child to adult caregiver ratio applies to all children under the age of 10.

  • Leisure swims are 2 to 4 p.m. on the weekends and 1:30 to 3 p.m. on the weekdays.
  • Adult and Family swims are 11:30 a.m. to 1:25 p.m. weekends and: 7:35 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday; and 8:05 to 9 p.m. on Friday.

STAY ACTIVE AT THE FITNESS AND WELLNESS CENTRE AT THE INVISTA CENTRE

  • Youth Fit Zone: Young people aged ages 7 to 15 years can try out the Youth Fit Zone at the Fitness & Wellness Centre at the INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiner’s Road. Cost: $5.15 per visit.
  • Game Bikes and Wii: The Centre offers game bikes, dance pads, and Wii station. Children 7 to 9 must be accompanied by an adult (3:1 ratio). Cost: $5.15 per visit.
  • Youth Fitness Circuit: Youth 10 to 15 years of age, can also sign up for an orientation to use the Youth Fitness Strength Circuit for only $15 (plus tax) – includes three visits during the school break.
