Kingston Fire & Rescue will be honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack that leveled the World Trade Centre in New York with a moment of silence.

Station #4 (at 271 Brock St.) and Station #7 (at 905 Woodbine Rd.) will observe a minute of silence on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9:59 a.m. (the time the South Tower collapsed).

“The tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001 will be forever etched in our memories and we must not allow ourselves to forget the firefighters, paramedics, police officers and civilians who died in the attacks,” says Deputy Fire Chief Neville Murphy.

At 9:58 a.m. all available fire apparatus and personnel will assemble in front of the fire halls to observe the minute of silence.
