HIGHLIGHTS OF RECENT PROGRESS & ACTIVITIES

Business Development

On February 5-7, CEO Jeff Garrah, Donna Gillespie, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications and Christa Wallbridge, Business Development Officer will attend the Economic Developers Council of Ontario’s (EDCO) 56th Annual Conference and Showcase in London, ON.

This year’s conference theme is Building the Community of Tomorrow and features sessions on strategic economic development planning, measuring economic development outcomes and how to engage younger generations in economic development.

Tourism Kingston

Rob Carnegie, Director of Tourism Marketing and Development and Chris Whyman, Visitor Services Manager attended the North American International Motorcycle Supershow in Toronto on January 3-4.

The Motorcycle Supershow is a consumer show which provides riders new destination ideas, itineraries and riding routes. Local Kingston Tourism Partners expressed interest in reaching out to this market in the last year’s Focus Sessions.

Tourism Kingston aims to attract more riders in the spring and summer months of 2013 as part of the new Adventure Tourism initiative in Tourism Kingston’s 2013 Sales and Marketing Plan.

Tourism Kingston is proud to support the Original Hockey Hall of Fame’s 2nd Annual Fundraising Dinner and Hotstove taking place on Friday, February 1 at the Ambassador Conference Resort. Special guests from Team Canada’s 1972 Summit Series will be in attendance.

Tickets are $200 each with funds supporting the relocation of the Original Hockey Hall of Fame.
