2014 KEDCO Board Recruitment
The City of Kingston on behalf of the Kingston Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO) Board of Directors is accepting applications from individuals who are interested in contributing their time and expertise to fill openings due to the routine expiration of terms of current directors.
Board directors are expected to actively participate in bi-monthly board meetings as well as committee and special meetings scheduled as required throughout the year. KEDCO is pleased to announce that Kingston will be hosting the Eastern Ontario Local Food Conference on December 3 at the Ambassador Hotel and Conference Centre.
The conference, presented by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), will feature presentations on experiences in innovative local food processing, understanding the province’s local food strategy and funding programs, and food inspection considerations when operating a local food business.

Tourism
Tourism Kingston is pleased to announce that Kingston has been successful in its bid for the 2014 Ontario Coaches Conference.
The conference, presented by the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) will be hosted at the Ambassador Hotel and Conference Centre on February 21-23, 2014. The Ontario Coaches Conference welcomes more than 400 amateur coaches from across the province, ranging from community volunteers to full-time professional coaches.
Coaches include those working with Olympic and Paralympic athletes and come from as many as 50 sporting disciplines. Kingston was chose to host the conference for its local sports heroes, strong educational foundation and event history including the 2013 Ontario ParaSport Games, Scotties tournament of Hearts, Ontario Special Olympics and CIS National Volleyball Championships.
