Bring your family down to the FREE indoor and outdoor New Year’s Eve festivities at the K-Rock Centre, 1 Barrack St. co-sponsored by Empire Life.
Celebrations run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and ends with a spectacular fireworks display from Point Frederick best viewed from the Wolfe Island Ferry dock or Confederation Park.
Dress warmly for wagon rides, hot chocolate, and the fireworks outside –
come inside to warm up and enjoy the live entertainment for all ages, public skating, a puppet show, art display, kids’ activities and more.
Here’s the line-up for the evening:
5 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Free skating on the K-Rock Centre ice; Art display by H’Art Studios; face painting, balloon twisting and crafts by The Not So Amateur Amateurs; puppets will stroll through the crowds all evening inside and horse drawn wagon rides by White’s Rides will be run continuously outside (until 8:30 p.m.).
5 p.m. – Roger James performs his mix of comedy and music and emcees the evening. Big Fun!
5:45 p.m. – Open Voices Community Choir. This Kingston community treasure, led by Andy Rush, boasts more than120 members and offers a wide variety of musical styles.
6:30 p.m. – Purple Dragon Puppet Troupe. This funny and wise troupe offers live music, big puppets and fun for all ages!
7:15 p.m. – Rock Bottom. Kingston’s newest up and coming teen rock band!
8 p.m. – The Gertrudes. Based in Kingston, touring nationally, a dozen of the area’s best and liveliest musicians combine to form a great New Year’s Eve party band!
9 p.m. – Spectacular Fireworks Finale. The fireworks are best viewed from the Wolfe Island Ferry Dock or Confederation Park.
