Folk & Americana singer-songwriter Gillian Nicola will be appearing at Kingston’s Musiikki Cafe (73 Brock St.) alongside Foxglove on August 10th, giving audiences a sneak peak at new material from her upcoming album:

After a busy start to 2018, Folk/Americana Singer/Songwriter Gillian Nicola has announced an August Tour of Southern Ontario.

Nicola recently wrapped up recording her debut full length album and is excited to offer audiences a sneak peak of the material prior to its release this winter. Nicola will also be performing stripped down versions of her existing catalogue on the tour.

Many are familiar with Nicola’s work through her role as host of the monthly Songwriters in the Round Series at Toronto’s The Painted Lady, where she recently celebrated two years of the residency.

Earlier this year, Nicola participated in the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity’s Singer/Songwriter Residency. This program spanned three amazing weeks, where Nicola composed new songs with guidance from Faculty Mentors such as Kevin Welch, Lynn Miles, Kim Richey, and more.

Prior to this, Nicola heavily toured her last EP, 2016’s No Place to Call, throughout Canada. The lead single, “Oh Marie” was nominated for the Ontario Arts Council’s Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award.

Nicola is excited to be bringing a mix of both new and old songs on the road with her this August.
