On Wednesday, Sept. 11,  Kingston Fire & Rescue Stations #4 at 271 Brock St. and #7 and 905 Woodbine Rd. will observe a minute of silence to honour the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack that leveled the World Trade Centre in New York.  The public is welcome to come and participate.

“The tragedy of September 11, 2001, will be forever etched in our memories and we must not allow ourselves to forget the firefighters, paramedics, police officers and civilians who perished in the attacks,” says Deputy Fire Chief Neville Murphy.

At 9:58 a.m., all available fire apparatus and personnel will assemble in front of the fire halls to observe the 9:59 a.m. minute of silence – that’s the time of the collapse of the World Trade Centre’s South Tower.
