Colourful fibre art by East Kingston resident Linda Coulter is on display at the Tett Centre Gallery through Friday, October 5, 2018. “Making our Marks II” also showcase new work, including textile art, oil paintings and handmade books by Peta Bailey, Janet Elliott and Janine Gates.
Coulter’s work celebrates colour using hand stitching and raw-edge applique to reflect her unique vision. “I work mostly from memory and am interested in reflecting how nature makes me feel,” Coulter explains. Much of her inspiration comes from the waterways of eastern Ontario.
“Making Our Marks II” also features Janet Elliott’s playful fibre art, including several kid-friendly “please touch gently” pieces, Peta Bailey’s handmade books and Janine Gate’s felted creations.
This weekend, drop by the Tett Gallery to view the art on display and make your own pamphlet-stitch travel journal with Peta Bailey.
