February starts tomorrow and Downtown Kingston! is gearing up for its seventh annual winter celebration, Feb Fest!

None other tha Canadian figure skating dance champions Vanessa Crone & Paul Poirier will be on hand to help kick off the fun. They will join local skaters as part of the annual Imagination on Ice show which begins at 7:00pm immediately following the Opening Ceremonies. Anyone who saw these two perform at Skate Canada in October will tell you that this is sure to be an entertaining, high-energy show not to be missed.

Come early to guarantee yourself a good spot and enjoy the music of Momentum Vocal Group performing from the Market Street Stage.

The Snow Slide and Snow Maze in Confederation Park are coming along nicely. The Winter Park will be open for all to enjoy beginning first thing Thursday morning and continuing all weekend long. The 24 Snow Sculpture Competition also begins this Thursday at noon with engineering teams from St. Lawrence College, Queen’s and RMC. The theme for this year’s sculptures is famous architects. Be at the Market Square Stage for 2pm on Friday to see which school is taking home the trophy.

Enjoy live music from some of Kingston’s best bands on the Market Street Stage Friday and Saturday evenings while you skate. See details in attached schedule.

Hockey Day in Kingston is this Saturday! Come down to watch Kingston’s finest up-and-comers from the Church Athletic League, Kingston Area Minor Hockey Association and the Ice Wolves as they hit the ice for friendly exhibition games. In between games, pick up some tips from the RMC and Queen’s hockey teams. A ringette game will also be played in the afternoon to show that you don’t need a puck to have fun on the ice.

Don’t forget to drop by to meet Hockey Hall of Fame member and former Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs #27 Darryl Sittler in Springer Market Square Saturday 12pm-1pm & 2pm-3pm.

All of this plus wagon rides, public skating, beavertails, a video screening and more! See attached schedule for a list of everything happening at Feb Fest.

Founded by a volunteer committee led by Kirk Muller, Downtown Kingston! BIA, Kingston Accommodation Partners, KEDCO, Queen’s University and the City of Kingston, Feb Fest is a free event open to everyone to see the best of what a Kingston winter has to offer.
