Volunteer Drivers Wanted for Family and Children’s Services

in Releases by

Family and Children’s Services of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington has issued the following release in search of volunteer drivers:

Be the Volunteer Driver our kids need.

Our drivers take kids to school, appointments, access visits and more. Every year, our volunteers drive the equivalent of 13 times round the Earth. For us, they are more than just drivers. They’re helping us make a better, stronger community. One drive at a time.

Can you be one of our drivers? Know someone who could be one?

We’re looking for drivers based in Kingston (we have enough drivers in other parts of our service area). They need to have a flexible schedule that could see them drive kids to school and/or pick them up once school is over. They need to be friendly and like kids.

They need to be fit enough to load car seats and assist kids who need it entering or exiting their car. They need a car in good working order. They need to have a valid driver’s licence, a clean driving record, a valid CPIC and references. We’ll pay mileage and other costs.

Our agency runs on teamwork. We rely on a variety of people and organizations to help us keep children safe and keep families together. Volunteers play an important role. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of children and families in our community, volunteer with us. You’ll work with a team of people who value your efforts.

Contact us to learn more or to apply. You’ll be screened by our contact center and then referred to a volunteer coordinator for follow up. Depending on call volumes, we’ll respond within a few business days.
