RELEASE — Barrington Walker’s campaign officially kicks off at our Campaign Office Grand Opening BBQ at 1724 Bath Road, Unit 10, this Sunday, July 7th from 4:00-6:00pm.

All Kingstonians are welcome to share Dr. Walker’s vision for a Canada that welcomes newcomers, pursues climate justice, and renews our relationship with Indigenous peoples, while creating jobs and affordability for all Canadians.  [Facebook event page]

Dr. Walker invites you to “join us as we celebrate the beginning of a campaign of hope against the politics of fear, and of status quo elite influence. We can do better. We must do better, for each other, and for the generations to come.”

Barrington has been a professor of Canadian history at Queen’s University since 2002. He is married to Georgina Riel, a well-known indigenous activist. They have two sons. He is proud to be the federal candidate for the only party that truly engages with the perspective of everyday Canadians.

As MP in an NDP government, Barrington will help implement a fairer electoral system, bring in universal pharmacare and head to toe healthcare, roll out a basic income program, and offer a New Deal for People and the Planet which creates 300,000 good jobs in a sustainable, post-carbon economy.
