Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect in Kingston Assault

Arrest warrant issued for Christopher CalamusaUPDATE – Oct 17: Police report that Chris Calamusa has been arrested on the aggravated assault warrant.

On Saturday September 17, 2011 at around 11:00 p.m. a 20 year old Kingston man suffered near fatal injuries from an altercation that occurred at a house party at a Rosemond Place residence.

Kingston Police have issued an arrest warrant for 20 year old Christopher William Calamusa on charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and two breaches of probation.

A 16 year old male young offender – who can not be named under the YCJA – was arrested on Thursday September 22, 2011 by Kingston Police and has also been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace in connection with the incident.

Police have been actively searching for Calamusa since the incident occurred and believe that people known to him are deliberately assisting him evade capture.

Police are appealing to Mr. Calamusa to turn himself in and are also issuing a warning to those people who are providing assistance to him that they are risking prosecution for their actions in helping him remain at large.
