United Way’s Fare for Friends returns to the Vimy Officers’ Mess, Canadian Forces Base Kingston, on Sunday, September 17 from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm.
At this premiere fundraising event, patrons get a chance to sample local culinary delights, excellent wines and microbrewery beer while enjoying live entertainment and participating in a lively auction.
Many local restaurants will be participating, including Bread & Butter Bakery & Fine Pastries, Curry Original, Mio Gelato, Pan Chancho, the Grizzly Grill, The River Mill Restaurant and Windmills Restaurant– just to name a few. To complement the exceptional cuisine, wineries and breweries will be on hand to offer samples of their finest wines and brews.
A volunteer committee has been working all year on exceptional live and silent auction items, donated by local artists and businesses. The auction offers a wide range of exciting items, including home décor items, pampering packages, art work, entertainment packages and much more. The auction also features a section on Emerging Artists, sponsored by local businesses. A listing of auction items is available on the United Way Facebook page.
Fare for Friends is the largest fundraising event of the United Way KFLA, raising over $75,000 last year. Over the past 23 years, the event has raised over $1.5 million dollars for programs that help people in our community when they need it most.
The lead sponsor this year is Investors Group. Additionally businesses have donated auction items and provided sponsorship at different levels
Tickets are $160 each (tax receipt available for portion of ticket price). Group tickets now available – buy 10 tickets and save 5% on the cost of the tickets.
