Family and Children’s Services is recruiting volunteers NOW for the Tree of Hope

We’ve been giving hope to kids for more than 100 years at Christmas. We’re a Children’s Aid Society and the families we serve need help, especially over the Holiday Season. Last year, we delivered toys, food, clothing, household items and more to more than 800 kids across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. And it was volunteers who made it happen. People just like you.

December is coming. It’ll be here faster than you think. It’s not time for you to start shopping, but it is time for us to find volunteers for the Tree of Hope, Southeastern Ontario’s oldest Holiday appeal. We’ve already started our planning. And the first thing we need is you.

As a Tree of Hope volunteer, you’ll help us collect, manage and deliver the things our families need. Starting in November, we’ll have part-time and full-time volunteer positions available at our storefront at 817 Division Street in Kingston. Most of them are 8:30AM to 4:30PM weekday positions with a limited number of evenings and weekend spots. We need volunteers from early November right up to Christmas Day.

No matter how you celebrate the Holiday Season – through faith, tradition, time-off with the family or just having fun – there is no better way to make a difference. Join us. You’ll be the Reason for the Season. Help us put something special under the Tree of Hope this year. Sign up now to be a Tree of Hope Volunteer.

This is what you’ll need to do to apply

You’ll need to be over 18 years old. Groups, teams or employers are also welcome to volunteer. Check with us for details.

  • Interview with Volunteer Coordinator
  • Police check
  • Child welfare check
