Join the K-Town Countdown this New Year’s Eve

Kingston celebrates New Year’s Eve with the K-Town Countdown:  free community activities in and around the Rogers K-Rock Centre – ending with fireworks over Confederation Basin at the family-friendly hour of 9 p.m.

The K-Town Countdown starts at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31 at Rogers K-Rock Centre, 1 The Tragically Hip Way. It’s  the ‘coolest’ party of the year!

INSIDE THE ROGERS K-ROCK CENTRE
MC Roger James kicks-off a line-up of live performances:
– 5 p.m. – Roger James – Music and comedy
– 5:30 p.m. – Salon Theatre presents Sir John Eh? The Road Show – Family Fun
– 6:15 p.m. – Sonshine and Broccoli – Children’s singing sensations
– 7:15 p.m. – The Kim Pollard Band – Rhythm and Blues
– 8:15 p.m. – Georgette Fry Band and Shout Sister sing highlights from “Georgette Sings Etta”
– Purple dragon puppet show every hour on the half-hour in the corner bar.

You’ll also enjoy:
– Face painting
– Inflatable sports centre
– Making something in the activity area with the Martello Alley Art artists
– Getting a New Year’s picture of you and yours at the photo booth
– Making a wish for 2016 at the wishing tree!
– Public skating (every hour on the hour starting at 5 p.m. Tickets for the next skating time will be given to those in line on the half-hour.)

OUTSIDE AND AROUND DOWNTOWN KINGSTON
Dress warmly and plan to enjoy:
– 5 to 8:30 p.m. – Whites wagon rides leave from The Tragically Hip Way
– Public skating at Springer Market Square until 1 a.m. (skate rentals until 10 p.m.)
– 9 p.m. – Spectacular Fireworks Finale, wrapping-up the year’s Sir John A. Bicentennial celebrations. The best viewing location is Confederation Basin.
– Parking in all City surface lots is free after 4:30 p.m.
