The United Way KFLA campaign has announced collected $1 million. That accounts for 30% of the $3,400,000 goal set at the Campaign’s kick-off on September 11, 2015.

Bhavana Varma, President & CEO, United Way KFLA, thanked donors and their thousands of volunteers, adding: “There are eight weeks remaining in the campaign and a lot of people counting on the United Way. There is still time to get donations in and keep the thermometer moving up.”

This year’s Campaign concludes on Monday, November 30.

In 2014, the United Way invested in 62 programs that assisted 75,000 people in the KFL&A (Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington) community.

United Way of KFL&A describes itself as working with individuals, organizations and key partners to build and strengthen our community, bringing people and resources together to support a network of agencies that help people when they need it the most.

It also addresses the root causes of social issues, changing community conditions for the better over the long term. Our vision is a future where people are self-sufficient in a community, where individuals live with hope, dignity and a sense of belonging.
