The Limestone City Blues Festival will once again bring Downtown Kingston alive with the sounds of the blues August 21, 22, 23 & 24, 2014.
Celebrating its 18th year, the festival is delighted to announce that Tommy Castro & the Painkillers will be headlining the Springer Market Square Stage on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
“Irresistible contemporary blues-rock…street-level grit and soul” says Billboard about this band.
Castro is famed for his signature brand of tough, rocking rhythm and blues, thrilling fans around the world with his incendiary live performances. Visit their website.
Lincoln Durham has to be seen to be believed. Armed with old bastardized mid-century guitars, hand-me-down fiddles and banjos, home-made contraptions with just enough tension on a string to be considered an instrument and any random percussive item he can get his hands or feet on, Lincoln Durham is a one-man blues band. Check out his website.
Lincoln will be headlining the Princess Street stage on Friday August 22nd. Opening for him will be Napanee’s Kim Pollard Band.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, August 21st in Confederation Park with Hamilton blues great, Harrison Kennedy.
Once again, Limestone City Blues Festival promises to be a ‘not to be missed’ presentation of blues greatness!
Get your $10 admission bracelet from participating venues for all four days of the festival – to the clubs, park, and the concerts on Princess Street and in Springer Market Square – and, with your bracelet, your free blues bucks to redeem at many downtown merchants!
